Ouch!
It seems our kids have had quite a few injuries lately. Here are some of the highlights...
Channing

On our first trip to the grocery store after we moved to our new house I ran over Channing's finger with a shopping cart in the parking lot. How did this happen you ask? It all started out with a bad choice on my part. I totally should have seen this one coming. Especially since if you know Channing at all you know he tends to be a accident prone. If a freak thing (like getting your finger run over by a shopping cart) is going to happen to anyone in our family it's always him. Here goes the story. I ran to the store with all the kids by myself because we were totally out of food and Nick was working. It was the shopping trip from... you know where! On the way out Channing begged me to ride on the bottom of the cart. I knew better but I gave in to avoid another conflict. Halfway across the parking I feel a bump and he starts screaming. He was hysterical and as soon as I saw his finger I knew why. It was a mess. All the skin down to his first knuckle was completely torn off including his fingernail. It was bloody and shredded up and covered in dirt from the black top. I will spare you the details of trying to clean it out. Needless to say it was traumatic and I don't think he will ever be riding on the bottom of a shopping cart again. Lesson learned for both of us.
Rand

I think it was about a day or two after the finger incident when I went up to my dad's so that I could stay with my brother and sister while he went on a business trip. We were all busy not paying attention to Rand and he promptly climbed up the stairs and then fell down them resulting in a black eye. Nice job Mom!
Ainsley

At a ward party we went to their was a game of muscal chairs for the kids. Ainsley was thrilled until she was taken down (literally) by some sugar crazed little girl. They were both running for the same chair. Ainsley had just about got herself up on the chair when this girl who was probably about 6 years old ran up to her, grabbed her and threw her (literally) down to the ground. She managed to hit her chin on the chair on the way down leaving the bruise you see here. The saddest part of the whole thing was that she couldn't understand why the little girl had taken her out. I don't think she actually understood the principle of fighting for your chair. She just thought it was fun to run in circles with all the kids. She never even saw it coming.
Ainsley (Again with the chin!)

Well just when her chin had healed from the "musical chairs" incident Ainsley decided to have a little run-in with her Aunt Candice's teeth! Candice walked in the door and Ainsley ran to hug her. As Ainsley jumped into her arms she bumped her chin right on Candice's teeth. We're all still trying to figure that one out. Poor Candice had already chipped her tooth at the lake with us earlier in the day. This bruise turned out even better than the first one, and it was in the exact same spot.
Our goal for this month is to have no blog-worthy accidents:)

Yikes! Channing's finger totally made me cringe. I have let William ride on the bottom of the cart before too, don't feel bad.
JACIE! OMG you wont believe me. Fox has a black eye too!!! Two weeks ago he fell down the handicap ramp! Our kids...I swear they are connected!!! I am totally team "no accidents"!
Ouch and double Ouch! Karson has ridden on the bottom of the cart too and I'm always worried something like that would happen. I have run over his foot though with him hanging on the front of the cart. Kids and grocery carts are a dangerous thing!
Ok, that girl at Musical chairs needs to be taken out! Man, viscious kids these days. I hope your kids are all healing with no current injuries ahead of them!
you started a little baby fight club in your family didn't you! haha :)
