Tour de Tucson - November

This year Nick rode in the Tour de Tucson bike race with his dad and two of his brothers. They had so much fun they decided to make a family tradition out of it and compete together every year.

We left the kids at our place with a babysitter and went to sit and wait for the guys to cross the finish line.

We teased Nick that we couldn't miss him because of his bright colored gear. The funny thing was we he was the only one we ended up not seeing as he rode by! We knew from talking on the phone with Don earlier that Nate had just passed him, Micah was way ahead, and he hadn't seen Nick since mile 10 -15 of 109! Micah came in first and we almost missed him as he went by so I didn't get a picture. Eventually we found out that Nick had been right beside Micah and none of us had noticed him go by:) So no picture of him either. I was a little ticked that I missed him, oh well. I'll do better next year.

As you can see, Nick had his shoes off immediately after crossing the finish line:)

Nick and Micah taking a break before walking over to meet us.

This was his first race ever and only 3 months after taking up cycling. He was awesome as usual and finished in good time.

Waiting for Nate and Donnie to finish.

Nate almost to the finish line

They had some pretty good stories to swap when all was said and done:)

Donnie about to finish.

On the way to the car

Trying to decided where to eat after the race. The guys were craving burgers so we ended up at a local place that has huge delicious hamburgers.

Tired but happy. Nick quit his Dr. Pepper habit for 3 months before the race. Here he is rewarding himself with one while he waits for his food.
