We Made It Back!

Rand and I made it home from our trip to Alabama! It was freezing most of the time we were there, and although I hear it's rare, it was actually snowing when our plane landed!

Here is Rand enjoying the cold weather.

I am not exactly a world traveler. I have never really ventured out of "the west" so I was awed by things like trees, and green grass, and more trees. Did I mention the trees? The homes out there are beautiful. We spent some time just driving around looking at houses and it was quite impressive.

There are ton of old mansions that you can tour. We visited "Burriton Mansion". It probably wasn't the coolest one, but it was neat and the country around it was beautiful, and it was close - which is always a plus when you're touring with little ones:).

On the mansion grounds there was a little community of log cabins from the 1800's. They were all original structures complete with farm animals etc. I happen to be one of those "history nerds" so I loved it.
