Meeting Baby

When we saw our kids again for the first time after having the baby there were definitely some hard feelings about being left for two days. Channing was really shy at first but warmed up to me quickly. Ainsley did not let us off the hook so easily. She wouldn't really look at or talk to me for an hour or so. We tried to show her the baby and she just sat and played with a toy without even looking up. The baby was in his car seat and we tried to get Channing to touch him and he wouldn't get that close. When Ainsley finally looked up long enough to realize there was a baby she first pulled his socks off and then said "mom can we unbuckle him? I want to hold him." Her and Channing both went and sat right next to each other on the couch and I put the baby on their laps and they both sat there as stiff as boards for a few minutes with him on top of them. It was pretty funny. Donita took some cute pictures but I don't have them on our computer yet. They really just had no idea what to think. I had a talk with Ainsley and explained to her why we were gone for so long. Once I did that she warmed right up and started acting like her normal self. She told me that she was mad at me for leaving her. Talk about a heart breaker!
