Blythe
Blythe was born on Wednesday July 22, 2009 at 10:38 PM. She was a nice big healthy baby weighing in at 8 pounds 5 ounces.
Here she is about 5 minutes after she was born.
Weight check. I beat Nick at guessing her weight, but he said I don't win anything for being right! Oh and please excuse my outfit I just had a baby 5 minutes ago:)
Blythe was born at home in our big jacuzzi tub. It was so nice to go to sleep in our own bed that night and wake up in our own room the next morning. It was by far my best birth experience. It was so relaxed and Nick and I both felt so comfortable and safe being in our own home. I felt really good physically even immediately after she was born. Her birth was less invasive and I healed faster than I ever have too. I had an awesome midwife who was extremely in tune to me and my needs and the whole thing was a pretty awesome experience.
The kids were able to come in and meet the baby in the morning. Rand woke up first so he got some quality alone time with her. Since he met her first he was very possessive of her when the other kids came in.
Rand introducing Ainsley and Channing to their new baby sister.
When Ainsley and Channing woke up Nick told them the baby had been born and brought them in to see her. Ainsley asked me if my tummy was still fat. Then she asked to see it. After I showed her she said "Your tummy is only a little bit fat now so that's how I can tell the baby really came out of there."
Sweet Channing was probably the most excited that first day. He couldn't stay away from her. He is still the one who will come kiss her and hug her most often throughout the day.

Wow! I didn't know you had a midwife. Sounds like it was a great experience for you, but I don't know if I could ever do that! You're brave! Congrats on # 4!!!
I need to talk to you some time. Let me know if you are coming up here ever I want to see the beauty in person. So call me when you have a minute (which is probably never).
Congrats. I didn't know you were doing it at home. I'll have to get details next time I see you. What did Dr. Seal have to say about this?
Congrats! I can't believe you did the at-home thing, but it sounds like you had a really great experience. And you look so calm in that picture, just five minutes after giving birth!
What a neat experience! I don't know if I could be as calm at home. You are amazing! Were you late with her? She was a good size baby and you are so tiny!
Congratulations! That's so awesome you had her at home. I hope all is going well.
